If you have low testosterone, some of the symptoms may include:
Inability to have sexual intercourse |
Low sexual desire |
Less beard or body hair growth |
Osteoporosis (fragile bones) |
Tiredness or loss of energy |
Sad or depressed feeling |
Loss of muscle size and tone |
Be sure to tell your health care provider if you are experiencing any of these symptoms. But remember, even if you have any of these symptoms, it doesn’t automatically mean you have hypogonadism associated with low testosterone. Your health care provider can figure out what is likely to be the cause and give you the best treatment.
To bring a low testosterone level back up to normal, you have to give the body a constant dose of testosterone over a period of time. Testosterone can be given in one of several forms including a patch, a gel, an injection, and the most recent option to be introduced, a small tablet-like product called STRIANT that is placed on your gum.
Keep in mind, once your health care provider says you have low testosterone, you will have to take some form of testosterone for the rest of your life. Make sure you and your health care provider select the right option for you.
